We made our way through the steam tunnels, our way lit only by my witch light. It was horribly buggy, hot and humid. We wandered through the darkness trying to find a hatch up, the ones we came across were all locked from the outside. Eventually we heard footsteps coming towards us, and thinking it was Brick coming back, we tried running from them. I ended up tripping over some pipes. That's when this kind of worn and tattered looking woman showed up, asked if we were vamps, then ran off. After a few minutes, more "tunnel people" showed up. Their leader asked if we were vampires and made each of us hold on to a cross to prove it. After we passed their inspection, and asked how to get out, they started leading us through the maze of passages. They left us at a sort of dead end, with a locked gate and told us to stay put. Then we heard loud...hoof like steps coming closer. I was too tired to really care about that, but wondered what kind of animals they were keeping underground. It sounded big. It turned out to be a...demon...of some kind. Big nasty fellow too. When he showed up, Ben started working to get the door open. I tried to get away from it, but it caught hold of me and swung me (like a club...bastard) into Tony. I was able to get one weak kick in before being slammed into a wall and K.O'd. Tony distracted it by...um...er, well, pulling hard on tender bits. It worked long enough for Ben to get the door open and for us to get the hell out of there. The tunnel beyond lead to the surface, basically into one of the lakes. We made our way ashore and ran into a beat cop who called my Dad. He dropped me and Ben off at the hospital and drove Tony home. Apparently Tony tried to get my Dad to give him police defense training...lol, I bet that went over real well. Anyway, while all this was going on, Matt and Cade came home to an empty, kind of trashed home. They tried calling my cell and got who I think was one of the vamp chicks from the boiler room. Then they called my Dad who put a trace out for me, Ben, Tony and Ashley Fenton - the "owner" of the white van. They found her address to be a sorority house...but Cade had a vision of us down in a boiler room, and somehow came to the conclusion that we were in the hospital basement. So he and Matt went there to look for us. Eventually they figured they should check out the sorority, but since my dad was watching the place, they decided it would be less suspious to just head home and wait. We have to find that book and destroy it or something. I really don't feel like getting kidnapped again. It's supposed to be absolutely ancient and insanely powerful. I wonder what's in it?

Damn it. @#$%#$%^ Damn it. They got us. Bastards! The last thing I remember is being in the hospital, nodding off. Then we wake up in a damn basement/cellar/maintenance type room, cuffed to water pipes. This big vamp named Brick asks where the book is. The Book of All Flesh. We have no idea, but he doesn't believe us. He leaves and Alicia and Ashley, the two lackies from before show up asking questions. We don't have any answers so Ben and I settle for mocking and antagonizing them. Anthony's able to break the pipe he's cuffed to and does battle with the vamps, getting pretty badly beaten in the process, and re-cuffed to a pipe in the ceiling and left to dangle. Brick comes back, roughs up Tony, finds out I slipped out of my cuffs and re cuffs me, but not before I'm able to pick his pocket. He had some kind of weird stick figure wrapped in lizard skin. I pocketed it for later study. Ben is able to taunt the vamp chicks into fighting Brick. They get smacked around for awhile, then he sets them on guard duty. They glared after him as he slipped through a hatch in the floor, then left us to our own devices. We all managed to get off our pipes, did battle with the zombies guarding the hatch and dropped down into darkness.

Ugg. What a night. Cade was sleep-walking again last night. He went down to the basement with a knife and slashed open wrist, down the street, not across the block. Good thing he snapped out of it and got it bound up, otherwise he'd have bled to death. He decided to go stay with his brother for awhile since this place is really getting to him.


Had another nightmare...all I remember is this creepy lizard like eye with teeth were eyelashes would be, pointing in, like a freaky mouth...and there was this dark figure looming over, smiling...and that creepy little girl again. Time to research some spells to grant dreamless sleep...


Ben was followed by a white van. He called the house from Cap Center and we told him to get the plate number. When he went back out, the van was gone.


I found a local coven. They seem pretty cool. I went to a gathering to meet the members, Debra, the leader was very "den motherly" but seemed to know what she's talking about and was very friendly. Afterwards, my stupid car died...again...and I hitched a ride with Jan, this girl from the coven. I noticed a white van following us, so I called my dad to ask what to do about it. He said to come by the house. Naturally he had squad cars waiting, lights blatently blazing. He's never really been one for being subtle. The van turned around as soon as cop lights were visable. I did manage to get the plate number however. Tony tracked it to a Barry Fenton from Maple Bluff. Why would a guy from Maple Bluff of all places being following us? Got home okay, Dad dropped me off and arranged to have my car fixed.


I just got back and was talking with the crew when there was a knock on the door. Some snobby blond chick was asking to come in and use the phone, saying her car broke down up the street. Yeah, right, no way. Internal Red Alert was screaming so I told her no way and started to slam the door. Too late. A dart found it's way into my neck and I could feel my muscles start to go limp. Ben propped me up by the door and ran to call for an ambulance, calling in a favor so it wouldn't go on record for there being yet another 911 call to our house. When the ambulance arrived, they got me out to it, only to get attacked. I was able to shake off the worst of the effects and make it past the vamps to the house. Ben in the mean time was caught and thrown in ambulance with the other paramedic.

Meanwhile, in the house Tony was hiding my trunk, to try and keep the vamps from getting at the book. He buried it under a bunch of Matt's dirty clothes...Keisha, from the party, made her way upstairs and picked a fight with Tony. He got smacked around, and defended himself the best he could the a toilet tank cover...he is an odd one...I tried to help with the battle but I'm not much of a fighter. I left him some holy water and stakes and went to try and help Ben.

When I got back outside, the ambulance was gone. So, back inside, up to my room, locked myself in and grabbed my gun just in time to hear banging on my door. Keisha, having finally bested Anthony was trying to break in. So, out the window, drop to the ground and start to slip inside the back door just to come face to face with Keisha. Without even thinking about it, I worked my mojo, brought up my gun to the back of her head, and executed her. Every time I do that, it gets easier...what am I turning into??

Anyway, her lackies saw me dust her. I asked them what they wanted and they said they were looking for The Book and that they need to bring us to Bokor for questioning. I leveled my gun at them and they took off. Damn vampires. I went back upstairs, found Tony laying like a puddle on the floor and ran downstairs to call 911...again...we both went to the hospital to be treated for the poison. We found Ben there, apparently one of the paramedics hopped in front and drove away while the vamp sisters were prowling around the house. At least we're all safe.

Subject: Genocide

Ben and I went over to the language department and tracked down a name for a German T.A. Robbie Brown. For only $20 an hour he was willing to translate our pages. Heh, only took like 10 minuets, but at least we got it translated. According to the pages, Doppelgangers can pass between our world and theirs once the portal is open. Humans can do the same only after completing a ritual with a candle, mirror and iron nail (Like the vision Cademon had) Ben and basically everyone else argued to not go through with making a portal, saying it was too dangerous, too risky, blah blah blah...I for one just had to check it out. How often do people get the chance to check out another dimension? Eventually they came to their senses when Anthony mentioned that the best way to destroy the portal would be from that side. So we agreed to go through the next morning.

In the mean time, Dad showed up to talk to Ben. Apparently he called the cops while at work yesterday to have the check on his co-worker Harry. He attacked the cops that showed up and disappeared. His doppel came through too.

The next morning I got up a little early and put together some medicine bags of Fog Presence. They kept us hidden from anyone with a reason to notice us. Once we were ready, I did the incantation and made the portal in my vanity mirror. The world on the other side was...different. Everything was dull, faded, and in really bad shape. Rust and peeling and cracks and...just, looked a hundred years older then everything on this side. It's no wonder the doppels wanted through so bad. The portal opened into my room, on that side and my doppel was sitting at the table, studying, just like I do on most nights. It was strange, seeing me sitting there. We were almost out of the room when Tony decided to kill me...her...my doppel. He didn't do a very good job. She cried out and started to fight back. Matt and Cade heard the commotion and came running to help. Cade got hit pretty bad so I magicked them too. Then shot them. Point blank. They shattered...

We went to the house. Cade stayed in the car and bled. Ben went upstairs to look for survivors. Anthony went to the basement to set up the exploding clock. I guarded the bathroom. It was full of corpses. The two of them got back and we had Tony shatter the mirror. It cracked, and the cracks kept growing. They traveled out of the mirror, onto the walls, the floor, the ceiling...the entire world was cracking. I turned to run but didn't even take a step before the world went white, and shattered.

The four of us were shunted back to this world. The doppels here are nothing but piles of smokey glass.

I executed Matt and Cade...

I destroyed an entire race...

Gah... Between guarding Ben2 and researching what he is, I got zero sleep last night. Gonna keep this brief. Turns out Ben2 was a demon called a doppelganger. It managed to cut through its ropes while Anthony was watching it. Cade heard them fighting and smacked it with a hammer, making it shatter. Like a mirror. If I didn't have a piece of it on my desk, I'd never belive it.

Subject: Got the Book!

I don't think I'd make it as a spy. We went over to 415 Lake St., that house with the doppelganger book. One of the girls that live there answered. Ben tried to get her to let him in so he could “check on” her room mate, the guy with all the cuts on his face from the start of all this, but she wasn't buying it. I tried talking our way in too, but failed badly. So we decided to leave and come back later to sneak in. Around midnight we drove over, killed the lights and waited for their lights to go out. Cade crept around the house and found an open window. Unfortunately it was to the bathroom. No way I was letting anyone go in there. It didn't seem like the guy was going to be going to bed anytime soon, so we tried to get him to help me push my "dead" car off the road while the others crept in and snagged the book. No dice, he just kept saying I could use the phone. Well fine. Hoping the others would figure out what happened, I headed in and tried distracting him until they could get the book. Either he figured out what was going on or just got bored waiting for me to leave, in any case, he hit me right after Ben made off with the book. At the same time, Tony managed to kill the power, I magiked him long enough to make it out of there. We're home now, trophy in hand, hoping they won’t follow or find us.

Cade had a vision earlier with me drawing a circle on a mirror with a nail. So, Tony looked up the words "circle" "nail" and "mirror" in German and we're taking shifts scanning the book for all those words on the same page. Once we have it, we'll get the pages before and after translated. That should give us the info we’re looking for.

Subject: Too much going on

Cade was sleep walking a few nights ago. He was in the basement and shredded his knuckles on the basement floor. He came up to get me at 4 in the morning. At first I thought he was trying to dig through, and figured the book was down there, so we were trying to get through the concrete to get at it. Now, thinking back, it clicked. He was attacking it, not trying to dig it up. It was his knuckles that were bloody, not his fingertips! Guess I was too tired to really process that and just assumed it was the book. I still think something’s under there. The basement floor is covered in cracks...I need to cast a circle around the spot. Maybe that will keep whatever is down there from getting out, or at least slow it down.

Chad from the party stopped by, with some left over beer in a sports bottle. There's definitely something up with that. I sent him on his way, and kept the bottle. Ben had a sample of it checked out at the hospital. Turns out there is human tissue (which Cademon thinks is a heart), chicken blood, rosemary, sage, thyme and parsley in it. Ew. I worked a simple ritual on it to see if it was magical. It is. Considering the ingredients, and the effect, I'd say it's essentially a love potion. Matt talked to Davis about where he got the beer. It came from the Angelic. He has a buddy there and is able to get the beer really cheap. I'd like to have a chat with Davis, see if I can get a name for his contact. I think I'll drop by the football practice tomorrow.

In the mean time, we have a huge problem...we have 2 Bens. Our Ben was attacked tonight by a Ben from the "other side". Ben was on a call to some students house where a guy got all cut...oh shit...that means that guy is dead and his double is in his place!...probably got shoved through the mirror. But I'm getting ahead of myself.

When Ben checked the guy out, he also inspected the bathroom, looking for the weapon that cut him. He glanced in the mirror and saw a face, not his own, looking back at him. Ben said the student's were playing around with an old book (THE old book?) and their friend recited what looks like a german incantation into the mirror. (They wrote it down for him. We need to find someone who speaks german to translate it for us.)

After we all crashed for the night, a black guy in a hoody showed up and attacked Ben. Ben's screaming woke us up and we were able to bring him down. During the fight we noticed he looked and sounded just like Ben. He's hog tied in the washer room now, thanks to Rancher Matt. Ben kinda tweaked out, understandable all things considered.

Our Ben's cuts looked a lot like the other guys, and a lot like Ben2's. He's freaky looking. No eyes, pointed teeth and claws in his hands *shudder* and is just insane, full of rage and jealousy. He said he came from this house, in the dark place, from the other side, where everything is dark and everyone is eyeless, clawed and pointy toothed like him. Not to mention, probably completely evil. Matt asked "If we send Cademon through, will we get the sane one back from the other universe?". Ben2 just growled. Cade called the cops, but right when they showed up, Tony said we should send him back. I have a bad feeling about that. Real bad, but what's done is done. We kept the cops away from where we hid Ben2, and Ben and Anthony were taken to the hospital. Cade went with them.

Ben2 probably would have escaped from the cops anyway, killed them, then came back here to finish off our Ben. He wants Ben's life, says he's the real Ben and deserves this life, not the life back on the "other side" where everything is dark and everyone is monstrous like him.

In the mean time, what do we do with Ben2? We all need sleep tonight and we have class tomorrow. Except Anthony...maybe he can figure out how to send this guy back and how to close the portal. Then when we all get home, we can deal with him. I'm going to go cover all our mirrors...just in case...

We need to fix the beer problem, find that old book, send a body double through a mirror and figure out what's under our house. It's going to be a busy weekend.

Subject: Nightmares

I’ve had a couple horrible nightmares this week. In the first one, there were these people chained up in a cave with all their skin peeled off. They were still alive…then I was in the shower and there was this cloudy eye in my chest, the last thing I remember from it was this crack in concrete. With the second one, all I remember is being peeled alive, a little girl gnawing happily on my foot and this sinister voice whispering sick and depraved things... Everyone else is having these same dreams.

My witches balls are turning smokey. There is definatly some bad mojo in this place. Time to buy some more of those and do some cleansing rituals. I really need to find other witches so I could have some help with this.

Subject: The Morning After

There was a party at the white house on the corner yesterday. It was...odd. Davis (one of the guys who lives there, he's on the football team and a complete ass. The others are Lance: Hockey player, Chad: computer geek, totally cute, and Rico: "god's gift to women") anyway, Davis wouldn't let Lance put out any punch and he made sure any hard liquor that showed up, disappeared. The only drinks available were from the three kegs from the Angelic Brewing Company. He was also very certain that all the guys would "get some".

I chatted up Chad for awhile, before bringing him upstairs. Ben was talking with a “liberal studies” major who was convinced she had the perfect diet. Matt was chatting up a rather homely chick and Cade was...well, being Cade. Apparently he had major jealousy issues about me talking with Chad and kept giving me dirty looks. He even called me a bitch! (That was really weird…I swear it sounded like he was in my head.)

As the party wore on the cops stopped by twice, and everywhere you looked people where in various stages of making out. The second time the cops showed up they told everyone the party was over. The last thing I needed was Dad harping on me for being at a drinking party so I headed home with Chad. Cademon followed us, glaring at me the entire time. (What a freak!) Ben came along with Keisha (now she’s a bitch. a skinny ass, probably vampire, bitch.) and Matt came home with Shannon. I’ve heard of guys doing “charity lays” but I never would have thought Matt the type to do that… Anthony didn’t go, he was busy charging people to park on our lot. Cade followed me and Chad all the way to my room, and probably would have followed us in if I hadn’t slammed the door in his face. (did I mention he’s kind of a freak?)

After Chad crashed, I hung with Ben in the living room and munched on pizza. Apparently Keisha was going crazy looking for some “old” book. She trashed Matt’s room and kept demanding to get into everyone else’s room. Just before midnight she took off, quickly. I vaguely remember someone banging on doors, but I just ignored it, figuring it was Cade.

Come morning, I convinced a rather confused / upset Chad to stay for breakfast. Once he realized what house he was in, he kind of tweaked out. He said we weren’t invited to the party because we were living in “Hell House” Apparently a lot of spooky things happened here over the years.

After a freaked out Chad left and Shannon slipped out, we started looking for the book that had Keisha so worked up. We didn’t find a book, but we did find teeth. Freaky teeth. Several inches long, pointy teeth. We all looked through a bunch of my books and Cade found an entry about an old gypsy curse that causes a persons teeth to grow, and making them have to pull them out. Kind of like one of Cade’s nightmares, about pulling his teeth out in that bathroom. So I performed the cleansing ritual to rid the house and Cademon of the curse. He tried to help, but didn’t really know what he was doing. Afterwards we took the teeth out to a river and buried them. Hopefully that solves that little problem.

Now all we have to do is find that book. And the vampire with the zombie army.

Subject: New House, New House Mates

I moved into my new room today. It's in a big 4 bedroom house right near campus. It's the perfect size for me, not to big, not too small. The only problem is I'll be sharing a bathroom with three other guys. Ugg. Oh well. I met a couple of my new room mates while moving in. They seem pretty cool. One of them...Cademon (sp?) had his brother with him. He ended up helping me move my stuff more then Cade's. Between him and Leo I got everything moved in pretty quick. I didn't talk with the other guy very much but he seems okay. The other two guys will be moving in tomorrow. Dad's going to freak when he figures out I'm living with 4 other guys. I don't think I'll be telling him anytime soon. My cat Bast hasn't come out of hiding yet. I guess that's okay, being in a new place and all. Well, time for me to start unpacking.
